I need to reset my password

To reset your password, go to the Sign In page and click Forget My Password. Enter your email address and hit the submit button. Instructions for resetting your password will be sent to your email address.


I need to edit a CANS (including changing an item score) that was done more than 7 days ago

To make any changes or edits to a CANS that was done more than 7 days ago, you will need to submit the request using the secure Help Box. Please make sure to include the client’s MA# in your message, the date of the CANS in reference, and the specific information that you would like changed. We will be happy to make the edits for you, and will confirm with an email as soon as they are complete.


I need to enter a CANS that was done more than 7 days ago

To enter a CANS that was done more than 7 days ago, please follow these steps:

1) Enter the CANS using today’s date.

2) Use the secure Help Box to make a request to backed-date the CANS. Please be sure to include the client’s MA#, the date of the CANS that you would like back-dated, and the correct date. We will be happy to make the edits for you, and will confirm with an email as soon as they are complete.


How do I add my CANS certification date or update my CANS certification date in the DataPool?

To add or update your CANS certification date, please follow these steps:

1) Login to your account.

2) Click the icon on the top right side of the screen, and select My Account from the menu options.

3) Scroll down to the CANS certification section and click the confirmation box and enter your CANS certification date (month/day/year).

4) Click on the Submit button at the bottom of the screen.

My CANS Certification is showing as Inactive; how do I update my information?

To update your CANS Certification date, please follow these steps:

1) Login to your account.

2) Click the icon on the top right side of the screen, and select My Account from the menu options.

3) Scroll down to the CANS certification section and click the confirmation box and enter your CANS certification date (month/year).

4) Click on the Submit button at the bottom of the screen.

How do I get Certified and/or Re-Certified in the CANS?

CANS certification must be renewed annually. CANS certification is centralized through the Praed Foundation’s collaborative training website www.TCOMTraining.com . This site provides a full training experience with videos, quizzes, practice vignettes with feedback and certification testing. Please be sure to choose Pennsylvania–Community Data Roundtable for your jurisdiction and enter your agency affiliation before clicking Register.

The cost to become certified through the Praed Foundation’s CANS training website is $12 and is the responsibility of the individual. Individuals should check with their specific agency to determine if the cost of the CDR CANS–PA certification is reimbursable.

For Recertification: Once you re-certify in the CANS, please update your CANS certification information in the My Account section in the CDR DataPool™. Please note that this information is verified.


How do I register for an account with the CDR DataPool™?

Congratulations on becoming certified on the CDR CANS–PA! Now that you are certified, you must register with the online CANS tool, also known as the CDR DataPool™. To register for a DataPool™ account please follow the following steps:

1) Go to https://pool.communitydataroundtable.org/

2) Click Create An Account located at the top of the screen.

3) Fill in the relevant information.

4 Click Submit.

Within 48 hours you will receive an email notification from Community Data Roundtable confirming your account activation. You will then be able to log into the DataPool™ and administer the CANS.

I need to enter a discharge CANS but there is no initial CANS in the system.

To enter a Discharge CANS when there is not an Initial CANS in the software, first you should ask the original evaluator to SHARE the initial CANS with your agency. To view a short video about Scoring a Discharge CANS and how to share a CANS you can click here:

If it is not possible to get the initial CANS shared with your agency, please follow the following steps:

1) Score the CANS normally, and choose “Initial”.

2) Once submitted, go back and use the secure Help Box to make a request to “change the CANS to a DISCHARGE”.

Please be sure to include the client’s MA#, the date of the CANS, and the below information:

Treatment to which client is being discharged? (this can also be NONE)

Reason for termination of treatment? (was the discharge successful, unsuccessful or due to an administrative reason such as loss of MA#, moving, etc.)
